I spent years working in hospital outpatient settings, first in psychiatry and then in a neurology department that specialized in complex trauma, dissociative symptoms, and functional neurological disorders. What that work taught me is that the body and the mind are not separate. What we haven't been able to process emotionally often shows up somewhere in the body, and therapy needs to address both to be genuinely useful.
I work with adolescents and adults. Anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and relationship struggles are at the center of most of what I do. I also work with people navigating life transitions and the existential questions that often come along with them: who am I, what do I actually want, how did I end up here?
My approach is relationally focused. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is the primary vehicle for change. When we look at what's happening between us in the room, we often find patterns that map onto what's happening in relationships outside of it. I draw from psychodynamic theory, existential therapy, and attachment frameworks, alongside practical tools from CBT, DBT, and ACT. And I hold the connection between mind and body as essential throughout all of it.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and my Master of Social Work from the University of Denver.
I approach this work with genuine curiosity. I'm interested in you as a whole person, not as a list of symptoms to manage.
If that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd be glad to connect.
