I work with adults who have diverse backgrounds and I enjoy collaborating with individuals from a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and addiction. I have training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and I enjoy integrating these theoretical orientations with a compassionate client-centered approach. Additionally, I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for those suffering from PTSD and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for those struggling with OCD and anxiety disorders.
My approach to therapy is to integrate your intersecting identities, beliefs and values in order to create individualized care that best suits you. I trust that you know yourself best and I value taking our sessions at their own pace. In our sessions, we will work together to clarify your treatment goals, determine ways to challenge any setbacks, and empower you to show up in sessions that feel most authentic to you. I will work to establish a therapeutic alliance through interpersonal warmth, collaboration, empathy, and non-judgement.
I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico State University and my Bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College. I have previously worked in Residential and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) providing individual, couples and family therapy for those dealing with addiction, anxiety, and mood disorders.
As for myself, I hail from Minnesota and have lived in Georgia, Washington D.C., New Mexico and, as of now, Washington. I also worked as a flight attendant in the Middle East for six years (Seattle as one of my favorite layovers) and can appreciate the hectic (jetlag and all) lifestyle in retrospect.
